Terms of Business
These Terms of Business apply when you engage Career Rescue NZ for career coaching or related services.
1. About Career Rescue NZ
Career Rescue NZ provides career coaching and practical career support, including career reviews, CV support, job search strategy, interview preparation, LinkedIn support, and related recruitment advisory services for small businesses.
Services are designed to provide advice, feedback, practical support, and an independent perspective to help clients make their own informed career decisions.
2. Career Review & Objectives Session
For new clients, the Career Review & Objectives Session is the starting point for working with Career Rescue NZ.
This session is an opportunity to discuss your career background, current situation, objectives, and any immediate challenges. Your current CV may also be reviewed as part of this session.
Where appropriate, further services or sessions may be recommended. You are under no obligation to purchase additional services.
3. Fees and payment
Current fees are shown on the Career Rescue NZ website and confirmed at the time of booking.
Payment is required before your scheduled session unless otherwise agreed with Career Rescue NZ. Payment details will be provided following booking.
4. Cancellations and rescheduling
I understand that plans can change. If you need to cancel or reschedule your session, please provide Career Rescue NZ with at least 24 hours’ notice before your booked session.
Sessions cancelled or rescheduled with at least 24 hours’ notice can be moved to another available time without charge.
Where less than 24 hours’ notice is provided, the session fee may be forfeited, or a rescheduling fee may apply.
If you do not attend a scheduled session without notice, the session will be treated as cancelled, and the session fee will not be refunded.
If Career Rescue NZ needs to reschedule a session, an alternative time will be offered. If a suitable alternative cannot be arranged, any payment made for that session will be refunded.
5. Confidentiality and privacy
Career conversations can involve personal and sensitive information about your employment, workplace experiences, and future plans.
Information you share with Career Rescue NZ will be treated as confidential and will not be shared with your employer, recruiters or other third parties without your permission, except where disclosure is required by law.
Personal information and documents you provide, including your CV, will be used only for the purpose of providing Career Rescue NZ services and communicating with you about those services.
Career Rescue NZ will take reasonable steps to protect the personal information and documents you provide.
6. CVs and client documents
Documents provided for the purpose of career coaching, such as CVs, cover letters and job search material, may be retained securely for up to 12 months after your last session to support follow-up or future work with you. After that time working documents will normally be securely deleted unless there is a legitimate business, legal or regulatory reason to retain them longer.
7. Your decisions and career outcomes
Career Rescue NZ provides career coaching, advice, feedback, and practical support based on the information available at the time.
You remain responsible for decisions about your career, employment, applications, and any action you choose to take following a session.
While Career Rescue NZ will work with you to strengthen your approach and improve your job search readiness, no particular outcome including interviews, job offers, salary increases or employment can be guaranteed.
Career Rescue NZ provides career support and is not a substitute for legal, employment relations, financial or health advice. Where appropriate, you may be encouraged to seek advice from a suitably qualified professional.
8. CVs, LinkedIn profiles, and application materials
Career Rescue NZ may provide advice, editing and writing support for CVs, cover letters, LinkedIn profiles, and other job search materials.
Where Career Rescue NZ prepares or edits content on your behalf, you are responsible for reviewing and approving the final version before using or submitting it.
You are responsible for ensuring that information about your qualifications, employment history, achievements, and experience is accurate and truthful.
Career Rescue NZ will not knowingly include false or misleading information in career or application materials.
9. Communication
Career Rescue NZ will respond to client enquiries as soon as reasonably practicable during normal business hours.
Coaching support outside a booked session, including substantial CV review, application advice or interview preparation, may require an additional booked session. This will be discussed with you before any additional charges are incurred.
10. Refunds
If Career Rescue NZ is unable to provide a service you have paid for and a suitable alternative cannot be arranged, the relevant fee will be refunded.
Refunds are not normally provided once a coaching session or agreed piece of work has been completed.
Nothing in these Terms of Business limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or other applicable New Zealand consumer law.
11. Concerns
If you have a concern about a service you have received, please contact Career Rescue NZ. I will make reasonable efforts to resolve any issue fairly and promptly.
12. Changes to these Terms
Career Rescue NZ may update these Terms of Business from time to time. The terms that apply to your service will be those in place at the time you book.
